Viana do Castelo District has a Mediterranean climate with warm/hot summers with temperatures around 20-25°C, and warm winters with temperatures around 10°C. All year round there is a lot of sun which makes this region a great destination at any time of the year. If crowds don’t bother you – visit during the high season from June to August. If you prefer quieter times and lower temperatures choose any month in the lower season. Personally, we think Spring and Autumn are the best.
