Harry Potter World – Best Shops In London

Important note. You won’t find the same items in every shop. So if you find something that catches your eye, buy it right away. Chances are low that you’ll find it in another store again.

Official Harry Potter Shop in Warner Bros Studio London

While visiting Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio you just can’t miss visiting its three stores (you literally can’t as all of them are part of the tour). The first shop is located right after the Forbidden Forest set, the second at the Railway Station set, and the last one at the very end of the tour. First two are quite small, but the third one is huge and best equipped. It’s very easy to get lost there for an hour, looking through all the shelves. Cloths, mascots, books, wands, sweets, accessories, jewelry, artifacts, and many, many more can be found there. And all of them are from the official Harry Potter merchandise. You can visit their online shop to see more or less what’s on offer.

Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9¾ is located on King’s Cross Station. Its interior is inspired by Ollivander’s Shop. There are cute mascots, cozy jumpers, scarfs and winter hats, Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Bean, as well as wands, jewelry, accessories, books, or stationery items. As you might expect, due to its location Shop at Platform 9¾ might get really busy – sometimes you’ll have to wait in line before entering.

House of Spells

House of Spells is another spectacular shop in London selling lots of items from the Harry Potter universe, but also from Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, or Star Wars. It’s located just a few steps from the Palace Theatre where you can see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play. On the House of Spells official website you can take a look at all the items they are selling.

House of MinaLima

For a unique Harry Potter shopping experience head to House of MinaLima. It’s a charming and very unique gallery and shop owned by two graphic designers who worked on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies: Miraphora Mina & Eduardo Lima. Inside, besides staring at amazing graphic art, you can buy beautifully designed items like books, notebooks, posters, or notecards. Visit MinaLima website to see all the unique items that they are selling (also online).

Harry Potter Shop in Palace Theater

If you are going to see the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play, you’ll be happy to know that inside the Palace Theater there is also a small shop. It’s focused mainly on items with logos from the play (but not only!) like clothes, bags, keyrings, posters, mugs, or badges. Remember that the shop is available only for those with play tickets, you won’t be able to visit it otherwise. You can take a look at their website to check available items.

Primark

Yes, you’ll find Harry Potter sections probably in every possible Primark. But the one in London, located on Oxford Street, is really unique as it opened an entire store devoted to its Harry Potter collection. Sold items are much cheaper than in official Harry Potter shops, and are of worse quality – all because of the fact that they aren’t from the official merchandise.

Here’s video showcasing how Harry Potter section in London Primark looks like:

Hamleys

Hamleys is probably the best British toy store with a really wide variety of products from many brands. The store on Regent Street has a few floors, and on one of them, you’ll find a whole section dedicated to the Harry Potter world. LEGO® Harry Potter, board games, mugs, mascots, stationeries, clothes and accessories, backpacks… The choice is really huge so take a look at hamleys.com to discover all items.

  1. Yeah London has done a lot in the Harry Potter section and made sure to bring that side of tourism more into focus. The House of Spells is in the Seven Dials area right? Minalima was good fun but I think they moved from the original store in Greek Street and are now in Wardour. How did you manage to get tickets to the play so easily? I used to take part religiously in the FridayFourty every Friday for four years (! yes that’s how sad my life was) and got tickets during a mass batch in 2019. I was so disappointed by the time I watched it. I should have spend it on Chocolate Frogs and a wand instead.

    1. House of Spells is just 3 minutes from Palace Theatre, so yes Seven Dials. About Cursed Child tickets – actually, it’s quite an interesting story! Before we finally managed to buy them for 2018 we were trying 3 times since 2016! Back then everyone wanted to get them as quickly as possible. And finally during one lucky day & refreshing the site on 6 (!) devices we bought them 😀 In 2022 it was so much easier, although we needed them for a specific date (my birthday) so bought them about 4 months earlier.
