The third year of our digital nomads’ journey took an unexpected turn and didn’t quite go as planned. But let’s start from the very beginning… On August 25th 2021, after months of preparations, we left our safe and well-known world and hit the road diving into the unknown. And just like that, we became digital nomads. Over the last 3 years, we’ve lived in 5 countries and more than 20 cities, explored many beautiful places and learned some valuable life lessons. Let’s dive into the third year aka #season3 of our digital nomad life without further ado.

Our digital nomads #season3 – Retrospective
What happened in #season3?
So the first year flew by, the second even faster, and in the third… we felt burnt out most of the time. Actually, we were feeling it already at the end of #season2 but we thought that almost 2 months during summer time in Cote d’Azur + a 3-month break in Poland would fix it. So we happily started #season3 in late October.
It may be hard to believe, but one month was enough to feel all this burnout again! But then we understood that it had little to do with living a digital nomad life and traveling around. The amount of work we took on was a culprit here!
You see, for us, this lifestyle isn’t only about traveling and places we want to see. It’s also about working. When we travel to a new area we prepare a list of locations (usually a long one) that we want to see and later prepare content for this website.
So our sightseeing isn’t only just sightseeing. It’s a carefully planned day full of taking photos and video recording. Additionally, with each season, we took it more and more seriously investing in gear and skills to improve the quality.
Don’t get us wrong – we love it! It was just too much and too intense.

So we decided to change our plans – we finished the job we had to do near Marseille and moved for 4.5 months to our favorite town in Cote d’Azur to recharge our batteries.
Then we moved for a bit near Montpellier, and then for 2 months to the only region we didn’t wanna skip in this season – beautiful Provence. After busy weeks we moved again to Cote d’Azur for an almost 3-week holiday. And so we spent most of #season3 in the South of France.
As usual, we finished the season in Poland, where surprisingly we spent almost 5 months. But we used it to travel along our home country to prepare content.

How did we travel?
Nothing has changed in that matter compared to the last 2 years. We were still driving through Europe by car, our reliable Honda Civic VIII. For us, it’s a very convenient way of traveling. We love the fact that the car gives us the freedom to travel whenever and wherever we want, without worrying about any public transport timetables and delays.
Let’s get to know some data
We like numbers, so let’s take a quick look at them. Last year we:
- drove around 13k km by car
- walked about 2196 km
- lived in 2 countries: France & Poland
- lived in 6 different cities
- spent on average €1700 per month for 2 people
- took over 2TB of photos & videos
- published 62 new posts on this blog
- published 51 new YT videos
Places we liked most in…
- France: Cote d’Azur and Provence
- Poland: Wrocław, Poznań, and Gdańsk

Best #season3 memories
After spending (additional) 5 months in our favorite town on Cote d’Azur, we got convinced that we’ve found our place on earth where one day we want to have a home. It was love from the first sight and it’s always incredibly hard to leave.
Slowing down and living in one place for a longer time – it really allowed us to recharge our batteries and… just live.
Leaving Poland (again) for autumn and winter months to sunny and warmer places. Living a couple streets from the beaches, working on a terrace or balcony in the sun… Believe us, it does wonders for well-being.

Seeing lavender fields in Provence. Unfortunately, we visited a little bit too early and some of them still weren’t in full bloom but we managed to find some already blooming violet fields (take a look at the first photo). Wonderful experience! But to be honest, the whole Provence is just MAGNIFICENT.
Taking part in 2 fabulous events on Cote d’Azur – vibrant Nice Carnival & tasty Lemon Festival in Menton. We definitely want to take part in Carnival again in the future!
We continued to successfully work together towards a common goal – making this site our main source of income. It’s not always easy but we didn’t kill and still love each other so that’s a good thing!
Starting French lessons to communicate in France better (and with the thought of moving there one day). We thought it would be harder to learn but surprisingly it’s not – in many ways, it’s even similar to Polish!
Meeting fellow travel bloggers in Nice & Wrocław. It was amazing, thank you Steven & Mrs. TT, and Riana & Colin! And while on the topic of meetings… we can’t forget about meeting a lot of cute French cats!

Exploring our home country, Poland. Really! We thought it would be quite boring as it wasn’t our first time in any of the places but we had so much fun! And we created many posts that will help you plan your trip to Poland.
Eating delicious food. You know, food in the South of France is amazing. From the obvious ones like baguettes, cheese, wine, and flan to French specialties and Italian food like pasta, pizza, ice creams… Yummy! After Poland, it’s the second place we really like eating outside. Speaking about Poland… of course, we can’t forget about the amazing food we ate in Wrocław, Poznan, Warsaw or Gdańsk!

Watching all the Harry Potter movies in the cinema! Was it making a child’s wishes come true? Yes! It was the first time we were able to see some of the parts in the cinema!
Seeing hundreds of flamingos up close was fun too! We definitely recommend the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau not far from Montpellier.
And of course, exploring many amazing places. Our favorites? From #season3 we have the fondest memories from Arles, Avignon, and villages in Provence (like Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Gordes, Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, Ménerbes, Bonnieux, or Saignon), Montpellier, Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, and of course the whole area on Cote d’Azur between Menton and Cannes.

Retrospective on our digital nomads #season3 – Summing up
So yeah, there is that for #season3. For some that might not be much, some might even say it was a boring year, but for us in the end it was a great year. We might not have carried out our original plan, but health, both mental and physical, is always a priority.
We’re grateful for the life we’ve created. For the opportunity to travel the world and live in different places. For not having to spend the awful winter months in Poland. We’re grateful for all the things that happened, both good and bad, even if compared to previous years they weren’t incredibly exciting.

What are we planning to do next?
Well… We’re not stopping just yet and we can confirm that season 4 will happen (or to be precise is happening right now and we are back in Spain!). We enjoy being digital nomads and so far we aren’t tired of that lifestyle. To follow our adventures you can follow us on Twitter/X or Instagram.
What’s more, we’re working hard to monetize this way of living (and this blog) so we can continue to do it full-time without relying on a “normal 9 to 5” job. If you want to help, be sure to visit our blog often and make some noise by sharing posts with your friends on social media channels, and our affiliate links – you’ll find them in each post or on the Travel Resources tab. Thank you – everything above is important 🙂
