Benalmadena

Benalmadena is located about 40km from Marbella. It’s one of our favourite white villages in Andalusia, which has retained its authenticity to this day. Benalmadena Pueblo is full of narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed houses generously decorated with colorful flowers. However, it’s most famous for Colomares Castle, a building that looks like a fairy-tale castle, but in reality, it’s… a monument dedicated to C. Columbus and his discovery of America, built by only 3 people!

While there, you can also head to Benalmadena Costa, the coastal part of the town which is one of the most popular holiday destinations on Costa del Sol. There you’ll find sandy beaches, an award-winning marina, a beautiful green park, a unique castle, and beach restaurants serving fresh local dishes named espetos. If you’re looking for a day trip from Marbella packed with both culture and relaxation, Benalmadena will be an amazing choice.
