Frigiliana
Frigiliana is located only about 8km from Nerja. It’s a charming Andalusian white village that will be your postcard-perfect day trip from Nerja. Frigiliana is one of the best-preserved white villages in Andalusia, also officially named one of the most beautiful ones in Spain!
The village is located at an altitude of 320 m a.s.l, squeezed between the Mediterranean Sea and the rugged beauty of the Parque Natural de Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. While wandering through Frigiliana’s narrow cobbled streets, passing whitewashed houses adorned with flowers and colorful doors, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.


Granada
Granada is located about 95km from Nerja and makes for one of the most unforgettable day trips from Nerja. It’s one of the most picturesque historic cities in Southern Spain where history comes to life at its best. Iconic last Moorish stronghold in Spain, a ravishing mix of cultures that intertwine perfectly with each other, winding streets of the old town, breathtaking views, hypnotizing authentic Flamenco shows in gypsy quarter… It’s no surprise that Granada is one of the most visited destinations in Spain!

Malaga
Malaga is located about 55km from Nerja. It’s a place where sunny weather, rich history, a vibrant culinary scene, world-class museums, sandy beaches, and a lively atmosphere come together perfectly. Malaga is best known for being the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and home to some of his works, holiday-perfect beaches, one of the largest Arab castles in Andalusia with striking views over the surroundings, and a food scene full of fresh seafood and tapas.

Caminito del Rey
Caminito del Rey is located about 120km from Nerja. It’s one of the most thrilling hikes in Andalusia which traces a narrow walkway pinned along the steep walls of a dramatic gorge. Once known as the “world’s most dangerous path”, Caminito del Rey is now fully restored and totally safe. Yet still delivers some adrenaline and spectacular views!
This 7.7 km one-way trail winds through cliffs, canyons, and a hanging footbridge over the Guadalhorce River. If you’re up for an adventure, Caminito del Rey can’t be missed on your list of day trips from Nerja.

Benalmadena
Benalmadena is located about 75km from Nerja. It’s one of our favourite white villages in Andalusia, which has retained its authenticity to this day. Benalmadena Pueblo is full of narrow cobbled streets and whitewashed houses generously decorated with colorful flowers. However, it’s most famous for Colomares Castle, a building that looks like a fairy-tale castle, but in reality, it’s… a monument dedicated to C. Columbus and his discovery of America, built by only 3 people!
While there, you can also head to Benalmadena Costa, the coastal part of the town which is one of the most popular holiday destinations on Costa del Sol. There you’ll find sandy beaches, an award-winning marina, a beautiful green park, a unique castle, and beach restaurants serving fresh local dishes named espetos. If you’re looking for a day trip from Nerja packed with both culture and relaxation, Benalmadena will be an amazing choice.

Guadix
Guadix is located about 150km from Nerja, and it’s one of the most unique places in Southern Spain. As for now, Guadix is a hidden gem and off-beaten track destination not well known to most travelers. What’s waiting for you there? Desert Hobbiton with hundreds of troglodytes living underground in cave houses, and a charming old town with an amazing vibe.
In Guadix, you’ll also find out-of-this-world landscapes with snow-capped mountain peaks of the Sierra Nevada in the back. All of that will make you wonder if you’re still on planet Earth and making Guadix one of the most unforgettable and unique day trips from Nerja.

Antequera is located about 105km from Nerja. It’s one of the most underrated historic places in Andalusia, yet not well-known to many travelers. Antequera is located at a higher altitude of 575m and is surrounded by a beautiful mountainous landscape. The town offers a wonderful mix of rich heritage, scenic views, and authentic Andalusian charm.

El Torcal de Antequera
